This listing is for the warranty and core process behind our Upgraded OEM+ throttle actuators (E9X M3 S65, E6X M5/M6 S85, and E60 M5 S85). If you already know which actuator you need, order it from its product page — this page explains how our warranty replacements and core returns work.
Before you file a warranty claim:
Our unit failure rate is under 1% per year, so if you're seeing throttle codes, double- and triple-check first. These cars throw all kinds of unrelated codes — we've seen an exhaust leak trigger throttle-actuator (TA) codes and send a car into limp mode.
The surest test is to swap the unit from one bank to the other and see if the TA code follows:
- Code follows the unit: that's the rare case where the actuator has actually failed.
- Code stays on the same bank: the actuator is fine and something else is the cause.
How the core and warranty process works:
- Check out by paying the core charge. We ship your replacement unit right away.
- Send us the failed unit, and we refund your core charge.
- Every unit carries an unlimited miles lifetime warranty, plus a labor warranty up to $200 if a shop has to redo the job.
Turnaround: 10-15 business days due to high demand. If it's an emergency, contact us and we'll do our best to help.
